the Tail of the Gauge pool in lower water.  A few nice big boils for some fish to sit around. When your fly or lure is swimming over them you really are waiting to feel that magical take from a salmon.

Salmon Fishing On The Dunkeld House Beat

The Chestnut Tree pool on the Dunkeld House beat. A great cast from the boat or bank with a spinner, the bigger the water the more they move into the left bank any time of year. In  big water they can be just a rod length out so make sure you let your lure come right in to the bank . The lower the water is the more they will be mid stream to the right bank.

A nervous moment as a lively springer nears the boat, but you still cant beat that feeling when your line tightens and you feel the weight of a Spring Salmon.  Roll on the 15th January when it all starts again on the river Tay.

The Ferry pool on the Dunkeld beat a lovely bit of water that normally doesn't get the same rod pressure as the other pools. The top croy is a great wee cast fly or with a spinner and just above and below the bottom croy. In big water the right bank can be well worth a cast.
